Repentance

Repentance is the act of turning away from your sin. Sin is to commit an offense or violation. It is also defined as estrangement from God as a result of breaking God's law. We know that the bible is God's word to man. When man goes against what is written in the bible it is a sin. Repentance involves an asking of forgiveness for the sins you have committed and not continuing in those sins.

Water Baptism

Baptism by definition is not just a sprinkling but means to immerse. When the apostles baptized an individual it was done by completely immersing them in water. Another item to take note of is that Peter said "baptizing them in the name of Jesus Christ". Acts 4:12 says "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Baptism of the Spirit came first on the day of Pentecost. The 2nd chapter of Acts explains this account. When the apostles received the baptism of the Holy Ghost they began to speak in other tongues. Tongues is defined as another language one not naturally acquired. In John 3, Jesus is speaking with a man named Nicodemas. He told Nicodemas that to enter into heaven you need to be born of the water and of the spirit. Receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost is being born of the spirit.
